I was raised a few blocks from San Francisco Chinatown and lived in there for most of my life.  Since 1998, San Diego has been my home.  The eldest child of parents who are first generation American Born Chinese (“ABC”), I grew up with a strong awareness of my ethnic heritage.  This appreciation permeates my home life, is the theme of many of my personal collections and is the starting point for most of my creative endeavors.

Since childhood, sewing has been the foundation of my imaginative work.  There is satisfaction in construction with fabrics and, when a challenge presents itself, the triumph that comes from success.  Also, I get bored easily, and I'm always on the lookout for another textile technique, making discovery is continuous.  I don't want to slow down when there is so much to know.  Check out my blog to keep up with me.

My life is shared with Tien, my husband, who radiates sunshine on gray days with his creative spirit, and provides plenty of support (especially technical) in our household.  Indoor kitties Magellan and Coppélia are always lovable and amusing too.  I'm blessed to have such companions!
