For this downtown San Diego loft overlooking the new ballpark, ABC Rags experienced working with a new textile medium when asked to create four pillows from antique kuba cloth from The Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire ).  This “cloth” has a natural raffia base woven by men and embellished with geometric patterns by women.

In the Home Office, the ABC Rags pillow on the red chair was created from chinoiserie after stablizing the vintage fabric with a woven iron-on backing.  The curtains were finished with coral buttons secured by French knots.

ABC Rags sewed rod-top curtains from woven cotton for nine windows in the Great Room of this Coronado home.  ABC Rags also stitched four pillows in a burn-out wisteria-patterned cotton velvet.
